What's actually running under the hood
Table booking, with real backend control
A live availability calendar tied to actual table capacity, sitting times, and blackout dates — not a WordPress calendar plugin. Staff manage every booking, table, and time slot from the admin dashboard, and customers get instant email confirmation.
Event ticketing with unique QR tickets
Every ticket sold gets its own signed, single-use QR code, emailed automatically at checkout. A companion check-in app (built alongside the site) scans tickets at the door, flags duplicates or already-used codes, and tracks attendance against capacity in real time.
Gift vouchers customers can actually check
Vouchers are issued with a unique code and a live balance. Buyers can look up their remaining balance from the front end at any time, and staff can redeem the full amount or take a partial redemption at the till — with the balance updating instantly, no manual tracking.
E-commerce on Stripe, not WooCommerce
The wine shop moves off WooCommerce entirely onto a custom storefront backed by Stripe — Payment Intents, saved cards, and webhook-driven order fulfilment — with a proper stock and order-management dashboard instead of a stack of plugins fighting each other.
One admin dashboard for everything
Bookings, ticketed events, gift vouchers, orders, and the wine catalogue are all managed from a single custom-built dashboard — replacing what used to be five or six separate WordPress plugins with overlapping settings screens.
Age verification & compliance, built in
Age-gating and responsible-drinking messaging are enforced in the checkout and booking flows themselves, not bolted on as a popup plugin — so compliance can't be accidentally switched off in an update.
